Description

The Trocadero is a district of Paris located in the 16th arrondissement, opposite the Eiffel Tower, which is also the name of the Trocadero Palace. This palace was built in 1878, but was destroyed in 1937 to make way for the Palais de Chaillot.

For the International Exhibition of 1937, the old Trocadéro Palace was partly demolished and partly rebuilt, and the Chaillot Palace is now located on the top of the hill. It was designed in the classic “modern” style. architects Louis-Hippolyte Boileau, Jacques Carlu and Leon Azema. Like the old palace, the Chaillot Palace has two wings in the shape of a wide arc. Rebuilt and expanded, these wings and a pair of central pavilions are the only remaining parts of the original building. However, unlike the old palace, the wings are independent buildings and there is no central element connecting them: instead, a wide esplanade leaves an open view from the Trocadéro to the Eiffel Tower and beyond.

The Trocadero Gardens occupy an open space, bounded in the northwest by the wings of the Chaillot Palace, and in the southeast by the Seine and the Jena Bridge. The current garden has an area of 93,930 square meters and was created for the International Exhibition of Arts and Techniques in Modern Life in 1937. This beautiful garden was designed by the architect Roger-Henri Expert. Previously, this place was the site of the garden of the old Trocadéro Palace, created by Jean-Charles Adolphe Alphand.

Visitors can enjoy the beauty of the garden and stroll around its grounds, enjoying a beautiful view of the Eiffel Tower. Here you can spend time with family or friends, enjoying the atmosphere of Paris. The schedule and poster of events in Trocadero can be viewed on our website. Visitors can book tickets online quickly and easily. Come to the Trocadero and experience the beauty and history of Paris.
